Decide before recording
- BPM and key
- Reference track
- Lyrics and pronunciation
- Whether main, harmony and doubles are needed
- Full takes or section-by-section recording
- Upload date and first-version check date
Mic and room checks
| Check | Guideline |
|---|---|
| Distance | Avoid a position that makes low end swell too much |
| Room sound | Avoid spots where claps ring for a long time |
| Clipping | Set gain so the loudest chorus does not hit red |
| Noise | Stop AC, computer fan and desk vibration before recording |
Harder to fix later
Clipping, heavy room sound, background music bleed and unclear consonants are often faster to re-record than repair in the mix. Small pitch, timing, distance and brightness issues are usually more mixable.
What CHBS can review
CHIBA SOUND STUDIO can advise mic distance, take count, file naming and whether re-recording will help. You can ask before any audio exists.
In a free check, the first question is whether the vocal will communicate after upload, not whether the processing sounds impressive in solo.
How FUJI° actually judges it
- Lock the 15 seconds where You are not sure what to send before ordering appears and compare every change on that same section.
- Before adding Gate, separate whether the main cause is recording, pitch, timing or balance against the instrumental.
- After moving threshold, decide in the full mix, low volume and phone playback before keeping the setting.
